Who we are

JPD was founded in 1983 in Liverpool, England. The company has since grown to include four partners who split time between the UK and USA to serve our global base of customers.

Julie Pople leads the design team. Her first successes came as a textile designer before becoming in-house designer for Royal Stafford. Julie is a fine artist at heart. Her ability to create beautiful, stylized interpretations of her subject in watercolour and gauche has led to some of her most successful designs.

Caroline Pople comes with a degree in silversmithing and three-dimensional design. In 2004 she joined the company and made the transition to tableware design with immediate success. Caroline's work has pushed boundaries with a heavy influence of urban art and high fashion.

The combination of styles in the mother-daughter design team is far greater than the sum of the parts and is the core of Julie Pople Design's success. Derek Pople and David Harding round out the team. Derek has managed the company since its inception. David recently obtained a masters in business administration and is working to find new methods and technologies to better serve our customers.

Combining 25 years' design experience in the industry with an eye for fashion and innovation, Julie Pople Designs has succeeded in building a reputation for quality and imagination. Recent successes include the release of Rosanna by Villeroy & Boch, an animal prints series for the Star line by Julien MacDonald, and Fall Orchard on sale at Macy's. Julie Pople Designs has also played an important role in mass-market ceramic design, producing best sellers for Wal-Mart, Target and Carrefour (France) through companies including Corelle, Gibson, and P.T. Sango.
